Do you have a hobby or pastime that you would love to do as yur job or business?

That is the dream of many but only a few have made this a reality. Think of athletes, singers etc. that do what they love and get paid handsomely for it.

What if you could make your hobby provide you with an income you could live on?

Well now with the advent of blogging and Web 2.0 that dream has come true for many.

With Blogging you can write about the things you know and are good at, like auto repair, sports betting, knitting, interior design, exercise, cooking and thousands of other topics.

You can set up a blog for free at wordpress.org and then sign up for affiliate accounts to sell related products on your blog. Go to clickbank.com for digital products and cj.com for both digital and physical products.

You then write posts detailing a problem , a free solution or advice and then mention a paid solution that is either faster or better in some way and put the link to the affiliate program in your blog post. People will click on it and if they purchase the product you will get a commission usually from 30% to 100% of the purchase price.

The next step is to get people to see your post. Use a free service that notifies the search engines that you have a new post like pingomatic.com or pingoat.com. The search engines love blog posts and will come to your blog within a couple of hours to index it.

After pinging you need to use socialmarker.com to place links to your post on over 47 social bookmarking sites where people go to find info on a variety of subjects.

All you do is insert your blog post address, the title of the post, a blurb about the post and then several keywords or phrases that surfers might put in a search bar when looking for info on your subject type.

The key is to write interesting posts, catchy titles and pique their curiosity with your description.

quick sidenote: when creating your wordpress blog try to avoid choosing one of the default themes as that will have been chosen by many others. Go to google and type in : free wordpress themes" to find hundreds more themes.

You can also choose a theme that is adsense ready, which means that you are allowing Google to place ads that tie in with whatever you are writing about and if your readers click on the link and purchase something you get a small commission.

This system can make you a good living but you have to keep increasing the traffic to it.

I currently get 200-300 visitors per day to my blog by joining communities on a site called mybloglog.com, submitting my post to rss feeds, writing articles and submitting them to goarticles.com, isnare.com and other article submission sites.

I also comment on other similar sites that have a page rank of 4 or above (download a pagerank tool from Google to do this)and I include my blog address and then using socialmarker.com to bookmark the comment page on 47 sites.

Do this consistently, make your posts interesting and you will develope a following that will look at you as an expert in your niche and they will trust the products you refer them to.

You can also use a blog to send traffic to you website or sales page using links in your post and in the sidebar of you blog.

This can make you some good income to allow you to move up to paid traffic systems that can get you thousands of visitors a day.
